I love fall, I love it like flies love bowls of food left unattended. I want to cover my front porch in pumpkins and sit out there with a cup of hot cider eating cinnamon donuts watching the leaves fall. But...I live in Georgia, and sometimes it takes to darn long to get here. September is on the horizon, which is what has my fall gears going but I have to remind myself that September is just another summer month down here. While all my northern family and friends will are frolicking in the September fall-ness I'll be sweating in my front yard sipping cider in denial. In the meantime, ignore my denial and check out some fall inspiration.

In the Works!
Updating my Mighty List the other day inspired me to get another item on the list rolling, the "make my own set of dishes" one. However, I'm so far out of practice that I need to start over and find a beginner's class somewhere. So, I did, and I shall. My Wednesday nights will be spent at a wheel working on my pottery skilzzz from now until Thanksgiving. Who knows, I may be giving everyone distorted cereal bowls and two handled coffee mugs come Christmas. You're welcome in advance.
Mighty List (Updated)
- Go to Napa with Matt
Take the girls to Disney- Take the girls to see castles in England/Scotland
- Crochet a blanket
- Rent an RV and drive cross-country and visit National landmarks
Rent a lake house in the fall for an impromptu weekend vacation- Brew my own beer
- Take a pottery class and make my own set of dishes - Distorted mugs forthcoming!
- Go back to London/Edinburgh with Nicole & Alyssa
- Retire in a lodge home on a lake, with a huge fireplace
Plan St. Hellno's 2011!- Checked off another one!
Now let us ooh and ah at some purty pottery....
Peace out.

Mighty List Updated
I realized that my recent trip to Disney counted towards my life list, so I had to cross it off and update!

Happy
Sorry for the delay...I've been having fun. My parents came down to visit with my good friend and we've been eating, talking, eating, and eating. I like to eat, have I mentioned that? My friend and I also went to see Crazy, Stupid, Love with Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, and (pause for effect) Ryan Gosling. Yummers on the Gosling. Here are my notes on all of it.
I love my parents and cry every time they leave, and I get homesick all over again. But it's totally worth it because I get to shop with my mom and my dad is always good for a smile. (see photo >>>)
Smoked Pork Butt on the Big Green Egg is always good. We ate it, we ate it until we hurt
We went to see a comedian in a comedy club the size of my living room. He was pretty funny and it was great to have a night out with everyone. We ate at the Highland Tap, a pub in Virginia Highlands prior to the show and my dad got Lobster Mac & Cheese - YUM!
I lost my dad at Home Depot...then found him.
My parents went home Saturday and my friend flew back last night. So sadly, we return to normal.
Peace out!
Papa is very helpful...he even helps with laundry. |
